Dr. K.N. Modi, a stalwart Indian, astute industrialist and above all a philanthropist, whose contribution in the making of modern India through his industrial ventures has carved a niche for himself among the immortal sons of the soil. This illustrious son of the soil needs no introduction as his deeds are self-explanatory and speak volumes. It was way back in the1940’s that the philanthropic aspect took the better side of his and he felt an urge for a vocation. A great visionary in his own right with a belief that without relevant higher academic and professional education no society or country can economically and socially progress, with this conviction, Dr. K. N. Modi took a detour from the path of an industrialist to the path of an educationist and the first educational institution – Dr. K.N. Modi Science and Commerce College was set up at Modinagar in 1943. This added a new text in the History of Education in India. Since then there has been no turning back. Today Dr. Kedar Nath Modi Foundation under its umbrella has 26 campus, spread across over 200 acres of land, home to 36,000 students across the globe enrolled in various courses including 55 professional disciplines. Heralding and cherishing the vision and ideology of his father, Dr. D.K. Modi, the youngest son of Late Dr. K.N.Modi, took the reigns of the Dr. K.N. Modi Foundation in his hands and moving in the footsteps of his father, added one feather after another in the glorious cap of the foundation. Realizing the need to revamp the complete education system, to meet not only individual needs but also the needs of the society, Dr. D.K. Modi felt the urge for tapping the young mind in their formative years, and this is when the challenge for taking up the responsibility of education from mother’s lap to Ph.D. dawned upon him. Thus giving birth to Dr. K.N. Modi Global Schools and Dr. K.N. University, Newai, Rajasthan. Viewed thus, it can rightly be said that the foundation has stood the test of time and can boast of having seven decades of experience in the field of education.
